i like dress number one. im not down with the drily girly lacey-ness of charlotte's dress. the first one is simple and flattering and i dig the sash thing in the middle hardcore.
plus charlotte has a super stupid name. i'm just saying.
Dress #1 is satiny and modern, looks cute and has some wonderful features to it. For one thing it would literally make you shine next to Eric. Dress #2 is more traditional, though far from traditional. The lace is muted and accents the dress in a fun way.
I like dress #1 and I think you would look good in it... however, I think you would look more awesome in dress #2.
Why? hmmm... I don't like making logic of my feelings, but I think Dress #1 would show more of your shoulders than you would like in a photo (go to a store and see how awesome you look in person with it on, then have someone take a photo and you'll see what I mean) and by the end of the night, if you don't change out of it, you will be exhausted and frustrated with fixing the dress all night long, if you don't just give up and let it fall to your waist.
Dress #2 has shoulders and while you may still get exhausted after all night, you won't have to worry about it falling to your waist. ... besides... despite all you claim, I think the lace would suit you much better. You would still shine, but it wouldn't blind everyone in the process. The non-professional photos that your friends (like me, of course) will be taking won't have glare spots accidentally.
If you could find Dress #2 with the fabric from Dress #1, that would be perfect. Strapless dresses have this strange capacity to look horrible on pretty much all body types in the real world - they look fine on a model whose only job is to stand there and look pretty, but the second you start moving around in them it's all over. I really like the cut of the second dress, but I'm less crazy about the lacy frills (like most people in this thread, I think.) So if you can get a tailor to make #2 in the shiny fabric of #1 (ooh ooh, or how about in a matte fabric with the satiny stuff for accents?) that would be perfect.
(Or, y'know, get them both. There's a new tradition of brides getting two dresses, one for the ceremony and one for the party.)
Hmm, I'd go with Numero Dos because it's more subtle. I dig the ribbon and material on the first one, but the mermaid cut is a bit extreme for my taste (and probably harder to move in).
I like dress 1 because it looks like a dress that I desperately wanted for my wedding, but was more expensive than I wanted. It's beautiful and if it's an option for you, go for it!
I like the original dress the SATC dress not cause it is from there but it actually suits you as a person. I may not really know you know, but the Anne I knew then would never change just grow more and that dress shows your personality. Sweet, sexy, classy, and most of all elegance and the fact that dress will suit your body and any religion given. Good luck with the choice. EITHER WAY I WANT TO SEE PIX
She would be just gorgeous either way! It's not fair to do the pictures though until she figures out how she will wear her hair and settles on the headpiece/veil/tiara/birdcage veil. Oh, and the sash on the gown she picked out is royal blue, not the champagne as pictured. Just picture Jessica Alba in either one and you'll have a fair idea of how our Treasure will look!
and by drily, i obviously meant FRILLY.

I like option # 1 as well! But you have great taste! They're both gorgeous! Maybe we need to see you in them before we can decide?
ReplyDeleteYes! Enna inna dress!

Did she mention Mom is paying for both of these dresses? Hmnn...

ReplyDeleteDress #2. Definitely. Very gatsby-esque, which i know you appreciate.
ReplyDeleteDress #2 because I think it would be much more comfortable to have straps and the fabric of the first dress looks heavy.

ReplyDeleteI like #2. I'm old school like that, plus I'm not big on sleeveless dresses.
